Perpetual Date "Fat Lady Transitional GMT Master II"
(Ref #16760) With Heavy Flip-lock Oyster Bracelet,
With Rolex Center Singapore Receipt! One Of The Very 1st!
Case: Triple signed 42mm (including winding crown)
stainless steel screw back case. Please note that the #16760
case differs from the later #16710 in the
thickness of the mid case. The latter is about 0.1mm thinner
than the former. Thus the endearing nick name "Fat Lady".
Also note that the case has the same dimensions as the
#16550 and even the case backs fit each other.
Case Condition: Stainless steel case is in
Near Mint (90%) condition with
light scratches. Serial
number (914****).
This serial actually is earlier than
some of the last #16750s that were produced. Please check
out my Rolex Vintage Sports Watches page and check out the
item V6091 which has serial 94xxxxx which is over 400,000
watches later than this particular "Fat Lady"! Therefore,
this must really be one of the very very first #16760s!
Dial Condition: 100% Original Rolex
enamel black dial with
beautifully aged luminous markers is in
Excellent (82%) condition with deep yellowing to the markers. QS date with magnifying lens at 3 o'clock.
Sapphire
crystal. Dial is signed SWISS-T<25 just below the 6 o'clock
marker.
Bezel Condition: Stainless Steel bi-directional bezel
with Black & Redbrand new insert is in
Mint (100%)
condition recently replaced by Rolex Singapore.
Bracelet/Strap: 100% Original Rolex
stainless steel heavy
flip-lock oyster bracelet in
Near Mint (90%) condition with light scratches only.
Movement: Officially Certified Superlative Chronometer
with GMT function movement keeping excellent time. Caliber
#3085.
Remarks: Transitional piece to take over the #16750 but
this piece seems to have come too early; 400,000 pieces too
early! Produced for only a couple of years so it is a real
collector's piece especially now that even the #16710s have
been discontinued!
