Rolex introduced the Submariner in 1953 so all those early models from the 1950s will be valuable.
One particular reference to note is the vintage Submariner ref. 5508 that debuted in 1958.
By no means was it the first Submariner, but rather, it represents a crossroads in the watch’s history and the end of a particular style for Rolex’s now-famous diving watch.

On offer is a very very collectable #5508 “James Bond” no crown guard Submariner with original box and guarantee papers recently serviced by qualified technician!
Dial is 100% original Rolex matte serviced dial from the 1960s. Hands have matching patina with the markers on the dial.
Caliber 1530 movement has just been serviced and keeping great time.
Case back marked 5508 with date code III.59 which dates in to third quarter 1959 production. Back of case back has 5508 sticker still attached.
100% original ghost insert has some wear to it.
Stainless steel case has been polished before and has some wear to it. We DO NOT polish vintage pieces to restore it.
100% original C&I USA rivet bracelet dated 1978 is in decent condition with only light stretch.
